Biography

Regine is a senior technician in the Paleoseismology team based in Avalon. Her research interests are earthquake geology, geomorphology, landslide dams, critical minerals and geochemistry. Her technical capabilities, expertise and passion include GIS, cartography, rare earth elements, photogrammetry, piloting UAVs/drones and managing UAV operations (Part 101 certified), providing field support and working in remote locations. Active fault mapping and working with geospatial datasets is a large component of her role and she manages the NZ Active Faults Database. The best part of her job is conducting fieldwork throughout New Zealand where she is often flying UAVs to generate underpinning photogrammetry and lidar datasets that are used for research and GeoNet event response purposes.
