This small scale geological map provides very general information about Aotearoa New Zealand’s geology.
Overview
The map was created in 2004 by generalising and simplifying the 1972 1:1 000 000 Geological Map of New Zealand, with minimal updating. The map is available as an A1-size poster from the GNS Science Online Shop(external link). Since its publication, a new version of the 1:1 000 000 geological map has been published.
