Continent and Ocean Research & Education (CORE) Funding open for proposals. 

ANZIC invites the Australian and New Zealand scientific and educational community to submit proposals for funding to support projects that will advance the field of scientific drilling. ANZIC is looking for innovative proposals that align with research priorities identified by the community during recent workshops and forums (Future DEEP,(external link) April 2023; CORE Legacy Forum(external link), May 2024; ICDP Australia Workshop(external link), June 2024).

ANZIC is offering funding of up to NZD$25,000/AU$20,000 to researchers studying previously collected ocean and land core samples and data, or research that will aid future drilling initiatives, like site surveys.

Proposals that cover the land-to-sea concept, aid in developing IODP or ICDP proposals in the Australian, New Zealand and Southern Ocean regions, and promote collaboration between Australia and New Zealand will be favoured.
