Chelydra Percy appointed as Chief Executive for GNS Science
Nicki Crauford, Chair of GNS Science is pleased to announce Chelydra Percy as the new Chief Executive of GNS Science.
Chelydra said her vision for GNS Science is to take the next step.
Chelydra is currently Group Chief Executive of BRANZ (Building Research Association of New Zealand), a role she has held since 2013. Before that she was at Callaghan Innovation, AgResearch and Scion so she has plenty of experience in the CRI sector.
Chelydra’s career has seen her work with a range of technology, education and research organisations over the last 25 years, nationally and internationally.
Dr Crauford said that the board was pleased to appoint someone with such extensive leadership experience in the science and research sector.
Chelydra said her vision for GNS Science is to it take the next step.
I firmly believe that science organisations, like GNS, need to step up and take a greater leadership role in society. As science leaders, we need to develop collaborative cultures within our organisations and with other organisations.
“We need to lift our ambitions for our research from outcomes and impact to influence and supporting people to meaningfully change their behaviours informed by our research. And we must design our science to provide solution for the challenges and opportunities that we face as a country and as a world.”
Chelydra will start at GNS on 1 May 2023.
