Police helicopter landing on a tsunami vertical evacuation building during Banda Aceh’s first tsunami drill, 2008. Graham Leonard

Tune in and listen to GNS Science Principal Scientist, Graham Leonard discuss tsunami awareness with RNZ's Mihingarangi Forbes and Susie Ferguson.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the 2004 Indian Ocean (Boxing Day) earthquake and tsunami where approximately 230,000 people died. So what are the lessons we've learnt since then that will help if there were another natural hazard event like that?

This interview is part of a regular series on RNZ Saturday mornings featuring Graham.
